Obtaining a certificate of divorce or death for your wedding paperwork including NOIM
Divorce Certificate
A Certificate of Divorce is your official proof of divorce. If you need a replacement Certificate of Divorce, you will need to complete a ‘Document request form'. Before completing the form, contact the Family Law Courts on Tel 1300 352 000 or ask at your nearest registry so staff can tell you what details you need for the form and what fee you will have to pay. You can file the completed form at any registry by post or in person. If you are unable to file the form yourself, you may authorise another person to do it on your behalf. More information can be found in the Family Law Courts form 'Document request form' under the Forms section of this website. You must pay a fee for the copy of the certificate. The amount of the fee depends on whether the information has been archived. The registry will advise you of the fee. For more information on how you may pay the fee, go to the Fees section of this website. From the date of receiving your form/fee it will take about 7 to 10 working days for you to receive your copy by mail. It will take longer if you are overseas. Contact the Family Law Courts on Tel 1300 352 000 for more specific information.
